Entry to the TCC does not include International or domestic flights.
However we can organise them for you if you wish.
Otherwise book yourself a flight into San Jose, airport code SJO – Juan Santamaria International Airport
Flights range typically from £550 – £750 for economy class fares.
A free shuttle bus runs directly from the airport to the hotel every 30-45 minutes. Alternatively, a cab takes about 20 minutes and should cost around $10.
Plan on arriving late morning or early afternoon.
Book your travel accordingly.
If you need the early morning return shuttle please let race staff know in advance. There will be a sign up sheet and space may be limited.
Be aware that there is an airport departure tax of $26.00
For one night before and one night after the event, we will stay at The Best Western Irazu, where the pre-race registration, reception and briefing will be held.
The day after the race you will be transported back to the Best Western Hotel.
Should you wish to stay in Costa Rica, we can drop you in Liberia on the way back to San Jose, where you can rent a car or arrange for a shuttle to a nearby resort.
Visas are not required for citizens of the United Kingdom, who are permitted upon entry to stay in Costa Rica for up to 90 days. Other nationalities may be advised to inquire about visa requirements.
Competitors may bring a family member or friend along to the event for support. However all guests must be registered and travel with the camp.
Non-competitors may either sign up for the ‘Standard Guest Package’ or the ‘Adventure Guest Package.’ Pricing and details will be online soon.
Alternatively, the ‘Soft Adventure Option’ offers guests the opportunity to participate in the main racer’s camp everyday, go on our Adventure Tours and then return to nearby haciendas, hotels or bungalows for the evening.
